Up Coming Events for November (and late October)

With the end of 2008 fast approaching, there are plenty of big comedy events coming up to keep you laughing up to the new year. Here’s what happening across Australia:

Northern Territory

Happy Yess has a number of events lined up for November. The new graduates from comedy school present Comics out of the Cupboard on Thursday 6th. Tim Read and friends present a night of stand up on Thursday 20th as well as helping Tim celebrate his 19th birthday with Tim’s Raw Comedy Night.

Western Austalia

Wild West Comedy Fest
The Second annual Wild West Comedy Festival happens in the city of Fremantle this October/November. Featuring performances by Fiona O’Loughlin, Rachel Berger, Scared Weird Little Guys, Ben Russell, Luke Bolland, Drew Seabourne and others. It happens from October 28th until November 22nd. Victoria

Young Blood Tour 2
After bringing top quality comedy to the Outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne last year the Young Blood Comedy Tour is back. Featuring big and soon to be big names such as Charlie Pickering, Sue-Ann Post, Christine Basil, Steele Saunders, Ryan Coffey and Cathal O’Loghlin amongst others it once again promises to be huge. The tour visits Burrinja Art Gallery (Upwey) on Thurs 23rd October, Healesville Memorial Hall on Friday 24th, Mooroolbark Community Centre Saturday 25th and finishes up at Upper Yarra Arts Centre (Warburton) on Sunday 26th. The Scared Weird Little Guys
After a long absence from the stages of Melbourne The Scared Weird Little Guys return for one night only at the Spiegeltent on Friday November 28. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster

Spontaneous Broadway
After a triumphant season at the Melbourne Fringe Festival, the improvised musical madness is brought to the Speigeltent for a short season of shows. It appears on Tues 28th of October, Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th at 9:30pm as well as on Saturday afternoons (1st November to 13th December at 4pm).

Sammy J’s Wagon of Friendship
Sammy rehitches his horses to the Wagon and returns to the Speigeltent ffor a rollicking night of song, laughter, trivia and good times! He performs on Tuesday 25th of November, Wednesday 26th, Thursday 27th and Saturday 29th. Bookings can be made through Ticketmaster

New South Wales
The Famous Speilgeltent (in the Opera House forecourt) have a number of events happening in the lead up to Christmas:
Die Roten Punkte bring the rock to Sydney in their Super Musikant Tour on Sunday 25th of October.
Rod Quantock presents his show First Man Standing at the Speigeltent on Tuesday 28th of October.
Tripod have their For the Love of God! A Tripod Christmas from the 4th of November until the 7th.
The Sam Simmons Experience occurs on Friday the 14th of November.
