I’m happy to announce the nominees for the Australian Comedy Review Critics’ Award 2010. This award is open to local acts only.

I can’t tell you how difficult it was to whittle this list down to eight shows. This has been such a strong year at the Comedy Festival. But, with the persistence of a herring, we got it down from 25 to 15 to 10 and finally to 8. So here it is, the nominees for the Australian Comedy Review Critics’ Award 2010.

Celia Pacquola in Flying Solos

Donna & Damo – An Asexual Love Story

Fiona O’Loughlin On A Wing and A Prayer

Josh Earl vs. the Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book

Kent Valentine – Fablemonger

Melinda Buttle in Sista Got Flow

Poet Laureate Telia Nevile – While I’m Away

Sam Simmons & David Quirk – The Incident

The Awards will be announced at The Local Taphouse by comedy diva Janet McLeod on Monday the 19th of April.

And don’t forget to have your say vote in the longest running, current popular vote award at the festival, The Groggy Squirrel Readers’ Award.
