Wes Snelling (Australia)

Wes Snelling is one of Melbourne’s finest delighting audiences everywhere he goes with his distinctive blend of charm, wit and honey-coated voice. He has been working locally and internationally as an actor, singer, comedian, director, writer, producer and production manager for over 10 years.

Recent highlights include Tina Del Twiste (Melbourne Cabaret Festival 2006), the highly acclaimed In Record Time backed by an 8 piece band with Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2006, where he (along with composers Stephen Weir and Ben Hillyard), wrote and recorded live a different song each show. Wes also conceived, hosted and sang with Girls Get All the Good Bits (MICF/Midsumma Festival 2006), the award winning TRASH (London 2004/Melbourne Fringe 2005, Green Room Award Nominee Best Original Songs/Winner Best original Musical Melbourne Fringe 2005), Come out and Play 2003 (Seoul Jazz Festival) and More Me, Less You (MICF 2002). TV and radio credits include interviews with ABC TV, Triple J, Joy FM, Triple R and more. He has played MC with a number of events including L’Oreal Fashion Week’s Fad and Flash and most recently the Dresden Dolls tour to Melbourne. He is about to launch his first live album.

In honour of Nerija Zemkalnis, a much beloved figure in the Melbourne comedy scene who passed away in August due to heart complications.
Proceeds going to The Heart Foundation, The Australian Lithuanian Youth Association and an emerging cabaret/musical comedy artist.
